Queen

Queen is one of the most iconic rock bands of all time, defying classification with genre-crossing hits such as “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Don’t Stop Me Now.“ Initially formed in London in 1970 by lead singer and pianist Freddie Mercury, guitarist Brian May (guitar, vocals), and drummer Roger Taylor, the band rose to worldwide prominence with their 1977 **album News of the World featuring “We Will Rock You” and “We are the Champions,” two tracks played at sporting events worldwide. Since Mercury’s tragic death in 1992, Queen has reunited in several forms, currently along with vocalist Adam Lambert.

Queen Setlist

Queen, currently known officially as Queen + Adam Lambert out of respect for Freddie Mercury, is essentially a tribute band based on nostalgia for their earlier years, playing all the hits that their fans know and love, including “Killer Queen,” “I Want to Break Free,” and (of course) the classic ballad “Bohemian Rhapsody” (star of uncountable karaoke sessions worldwide), so these are among the songs that you can expect to hear when they do next go on tour. Sports fans will no doubt get a thrill as well from hearing Queen’s class stadium tunes like “Another One Bites the Dust,”We Will Rock You”, and “We Are the Champions,” all of which feature in Queen’s setlist whenever they are on tour.

Queen 2023 Tour Review

Tour Name: Rhapsody Tour

Tour Dates: July 10, 2019 - February 14, 2024

Queen’s Rhapsody Tour was inspired by the Oscar-winning biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, which focused on the band’s early days with legendary singer and founding member Freddie Mercury. For the Rhapsody Tour, Adam Lambert continued in his role as lead vocalist from the group’s previous Queen + Adam Lambert Tour. The Rhapsody Tour, which extended from mid-2019 to early 2024, kicked off in Vancouver, BC, Canada and went on to encompass 109 performances in 20 countries (including Japan, Australia, Canada, and the UK), with stops in such famous venues as Madison Square Garden in New York City, TD Garden in Boston, and BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.

Fans responded to Queen’s Rhapsody Tour with high praise. “For any Queen fan, this will be the closest thing to a religious experience,” enthused one fan from Belfast, while another from Munich called the tour “a royal treat: Queen and singer Adam Lambert celebrated the legacy of Freddie Mercury."

Queen is not currently on tour in 2024, but make sure to keep checking TicketX for updates!

About Queen

The current version of Queen is the third incarnation of the band since it was first founded in 1970, with Brian May and Roger Taylor the two original members remaining. The traumatic death of Freddy Mercury in 1992 led to the breakup of the band and to bass player John Deacon essentially retiring from music. The band continued to release albums of previously recorded material and then reformed in 2004 with Paul Rodgers as lead singer. Current lead vocalist Adam Lambert joined Queen in 2011. The band has always been clear, however, that all other singers are “tributes” to Mercury rather than replacing him. Interest in Queen’s music has been maintained through the ubiquity of certain songs at sporting events, the Broadway musical We Will Rock You, and the Oscar-winning film Bohemian Rhapsody.

Queen’s 2024 net worth

According to SCMP, Brian May’s net worth is estimated at $210 million, while Roger Taylor’s net worth is estimated at $200 million. Freddy Mercury is said to have amassed a fortune of approximately $50 million before his death, with his estate accumulating much more in the decades since. Current vocalist Adam Lambert’s net worth is estimated at $35 million. Fans should note that calculating net worth is notoriously difficult due to the complex nature of accounting for ticket sales, recording royalties, assets, merchandising, and endorsements as well as the fact that most financial information remains private.
