Texas A&M Aggies Football

The Texas A&M Aggies fielded their first football team 130 years ago and have been pretty good ever since, winning 3 national titles, 18 conference titles, and 20 Bowl games (20-23 Bowl record, with an impressive overall win rate of .603 (778-504-48). The Aggies enjoyed particular periods of success in the 1980s and 1990s, winning their very competitive conference eight times and appearing in seven Cotton Bowls in one single fourteen season stretch (unfortunately, they only came out on top in two of those Bowl matchups). The Aggies have remained a competitive team in recent years, posting three straight Bowl wins (Gator, Texas, Orange) between 2018-2020. Their many passionate fans will be looking to 2024 and the future to bring more big wins to the hallowed gridiron of Kyle Field.

How can I get cheap tickets to Texas A&M Aggies football games?

The small town of College Station, Texas might not sound like a place where you might end up in a traffic jam, but with its stadium Kyle Field seating in excess of 100,000, the roads into campus do get pretty busy on game days! While the convergence of so many Texas A&M Aggies football fans creates an incredible game day atmosphere, it can also make tickets difficult to find, particularly for championship deciders, rivalry matchups (see below), and Bowl games. Trust TicketX as your spot online to find the cheapest Texas A&M Aggies tickets to all the big games at Kyle Field. Our handy stadium seating chart is the best way to compare different seating options (price/location). Purchase your tickets from TicketX with a single click and the lowest commission fees around.

Texas A&M Aggies Football Rivalries

The Texas A&M Aggies have a huge state rivalry with the Texas Longhorns from Austin. The series between the two schools dates back to 1894 and has had the third-most total games of any rivalry in American college football (and most of any in-state rivalry). While the Longhorns hold the overall advantage at 76-37-5, the series has actually been quite even since 1965 (when Texas A&M ceased requiring military cadet service). The rivalry is heated, with the fight songs of both teams mentioning one another in less than complimentary terms! In addition to the Longhorns, the Aggies also have rivalries with the LSU Tigers, Arkansas Razorbacks Football, Baylor Bears, Texas Tech Red Raiders, and the TCU Horned Frogs

Are Texas A&M Aggies football games exciting?

Along with their success on the gridiron, Texas A&M Aggies football is even more famous for the many traditions of its passionate fanbase (their stadium, Kyle Field, holds the single-game record attendance for Texas football at over 110,000 at a home game in 2014). Aggies fans call themselves “the 12th man” and, unlike fans in most American stadiums, usually spend the entire game on their feet to show their support for the team. This 12th man tradition nearly became a literal reality in 1922, when a basketball player (who had once played football, to be fair) was called down from the stands onto the field after the Aggies lost many players to injury (he did not actually end up playing in the game, but the story helped inspire the 12th man tradition). Seniors (4th year students) also line up at the south end of the stadium wearing their Senior boots and Aggie Rings after halftime to welcome the players back to the field. Instead of cheerleaders, Yell Leaders in the crowd lead fans in chants and fight songs (specifically, the “Aggie War Hymn”, where everyone links arms and sings) and are often tossed into the Fish Pond in celebration if the team wins.
