UFC Fight Night

The UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) began in 1993 as an attempt to bring all different styles of hand-to-hand combat sports (martial arts) – from boxing, Muay Thai, and kickboxing to Greco-Roman wrestling, judo, and jiu jitsu – into a single ring to answer the long debated question of which would prevail. In time, the “ring” morphed into the now famous UFC Octagon cage and the experiment changed from a curiosity into a bona fide sport with rules, referees, superstars, huge cash prizes, and some of the most passionate fans in the world.

While the UFC operates a wide range of worldwide events, the two most common events are the classic UFC numbered events (UFC 100, UFC 299, etc.) and UFC Fight Nights

Who are some of the most exciting UFC fighters (and fights!) to watch for in 2024?

While casual fans may be more familiar with household names like Conor McGregor, the outspoken Irish fighter’s star has now faded somewhat with some high profile losses and injuries. Undefeated Khabib Nurmagomedov, who dealt McGregor one of those defeats, has also gone into what many feel is a premature retirement. And the hulking Francis Ngannou left the UFC in 2023 after winning the heavyweight title, moving into boxing where he fought (and knocked down) Tyson Fury in an exhibition match late last year.

Plenty of exciting UFC fighters remain, however, none more than the great Jon Jones, who got tired of winning at light heavyweight and decided to move up a weight class to seize the vacant heavyweight title after Ngannou left. Jones is set to face a challenger this year in the talented Tom Aspinall, who will try to deal the champ his first legitimate loss in 28 fights. At featherweight, long reigning champion Alexander Volkanovski is set for an even looking contest against Ilia Topuria, while new breakout star Alex Pereira will be looking to bounce back after losing the light heavyweight title to the legendary Israel Adesanya (who he had taken the title from in the first place!). Fans will also be keeping an eye on the lightweight division’s king Islam Makhachev, who looks invincible but will face a tough test if he faces dangerous striker Justin Gaethje.

How can I find the cheapest tickets to UFC Fight Nights?

Tickets to UFC Fight Nights are generally released on sale two months before the date of the event. With so many fights packed into a single Saturday night and so many up-and-coming fighters to see, tickets tend to go very fast. As always, you should keep returning to TicketX to check the TicketX listings on this page to view tickets as they come available in the weeks leading up to the event.

Note as well that because many of the venues that host UFC Fight Nights tend to be relatively small (with often no more than 1000 seats), tickets sell out very quickly. Get onto TicketX right away and keep checking back to find the cheapest available tickets to UFC Fight Nights. With just one click, you can purchase tickets from TicketX with the lowest commission fees!

What is the difference between UFC Fight Nights and UFC numbered events (UFC 299, UFC 300, etc.)?

While the UFC operates a wide range of worldwide events, the two most common events are the classic UFC numbered events (UFC 100, UFC 299, etc.) and UFC Fight Nights

The first classic UFC numbered event was UFC 1 way back on Nov. 12, 1993 and that number will pass 300 in the early months of 2024. UFC numbered events generally involve marquee fights that include some of the sport’s most popular fighters, often vying for shots at UFC world titles. Each event usually consists of an undercard match followed by the main event.

UFC Fight Nights are more like showcases for up-and-coming fighters looking to make a name for themselves in the UFC. Fight Nights usually consist of around 8 back-to-back fights and often feature some of the wildest fights due to the desire of the combatants to rise in the ranks.

When are UFC Fight Nights held?

The UFC holds some kind of event roughly once a week, generally on Saturday nights. Some of these are UFC numbered events while others are UFC Fight Nights

Where are UFC Fight Nights held?

The majority of UFC Fight Nights take place in the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, a small venue seating just 1,000 spectators that was originally built during the COVID pandemic so that UFC fights could continue. Fans find the small venue to be an incredible experience, offering an unparalleled opportunity to view MMA in such close quarters.

Other UFC Fight Night events are held all around the world, with past venues including: Arena CDMX (Mexico City), Boardwalk Hall (Atlantic City), Kingdom Arena (Riyadh), Ginásio do Ibirapuera (São Paulo), Accor Arena (Paris), Singapore Indoor Stadium (Singapore), The O2 Arena (London), and more.
