Red Bull Arena Events

Red Bull Arena is home to the New York Red Bulls, but like MetLife Stadium (home of the NFL’s New York Jets and New York Giants) it is actually located across the river in New Jersey. Built in 2010 as a soccer-specific stadium to replace the Red Bulls’ previous unsuitable situation in Giants Stadium, Red Bull Arena features a unique wraparound fiberglass shell that creates a semi-transparent roof over much of the seating area. The Red Bulls team, one of the 10 surviving founding members of MLS in 1996, have never won an MLS Cup, though they have won the Supporters’ Shield on 3 occasions (2013, 2015, 2018), all after having moved to the Red Bull Arena. The Red Bulls got closest in 2014, 2015, and 2018, progressing all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals (semifinals) but never quite pushing through to the final. Recent seasons, however, have seen a decline in the team’s fortune on the field and also in terms of profile in the face of the City group backed venture New York City FC. Nonetheless, New York Red Bulls fans, led by supporters groups Empire Supporters Club, Garden State Ultras, Viking Army Supporters Club, and Torcida 96, have continued to cheer on their team, traveling to away games as well as home games to cheer on their team. Hungry visitors to Red Bull Arena won’t stay hungry long, with concessions featuring everything from hot dogs and Tacos Roqueros to Skyline pizza and Red Bowl Noodles. Plenty of cold beer is also available. For New York Red Bulls merchandise, head to one of the venue’s many shops and kiosks.

Does Red Bull Arena host concerts and other events?

As well as New York Red Bulls soccer games, Red Bull Arena has hosted numerous international soccer games, including matches featuring the U.S. Men's National Soccer Team and U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team. The venue’s first concert event was held in 2011 with Dispatch starring, followed by Ani Defranco and Headstones in 2018.

No concerts or music festivals are scheduled at Red Bull Arena for 2024 yet, but keep your eye on TicketX, as this is sure to change soon!
