21 SAVAGE

Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph is popularly known as 21 Savage, he is a Grammy-winning artist who emerged from the streets to become one of the recognized rappers in Atlanta's rap industry. He is originally British but was raised in Atlanta, Georgia. Growing up was not an easy phase for him, experiencing his fair share of ups and downs. At 19, he lost his close friend Larryy in a violent shootout. Then, on his 21st birthday, he was shot six times during an attempted robbery, which caused the death of his best friend, Johnny. These traumatic events served as the spark for his journey into music. Through the support of his late friend’s uncle, 21 Savage released his debut single, I Can’t Get Enough, and by 2013, he was already making an impact with his debut single.

Then in 2015, he dropped his first mixtape, The Slaughter Tape, giving him recognition as an hero in Atlanta.

Despite his success, 21 Savage’s lyrics remain connected to the harsh realities of his past, giving his music authenticity and this has enabled him to maintain his underground recognition while achieving success, earning him two Grammy nominations. Beyond his music, he is celebrated for his philanthropy, providing support for underprivileged youth in Atlanta. His journey from the streets to the studio is an inspiration to many, making him a role model in his community.

21 Savage’s Discography

Over the years, 21 Savage has dropped several hit tracks; he has three studio albums, three collaboration albums, three EPs, a couple of mixtapes, and 31 singles; he has also been featured in about 15 singles.

In 2016, he collaborated with Metro Boomin for the EP Savage Mode, which hit number 23 on the Billboard 200, making this his first project to be on the chart. This collaborative EP also gave us the hit “X,” featuring Future and his single No Heart.

Then, in 2017, he released his first studio album, Issa Album, which got the number 2 spot on the Billboard 200. The album produced the track Bank Account, which claimed a spot in the top 20 singles. Later in 2017, on Halloween, he dropped Without Warning, a collaboration with Metro Boomin and Offset.

By December 2018, 21 Savage released his second album. I Am > I Was, which shot straight to the top of the Billboard 200, giving him his first chart-topping album. The track A Lot was a big track from the album. Then, in 2020, he collaborated with Metro Boomin again for Savage Mode II, another number-one hit album, featuring tracks like Mr Right Now featuring Drake and Runnin.

He dropped his third EP Spiral: From the Book of Saw Soundtrack, which is tied to the movie Spiral. He even teamed up with J.Cole and Morray to release the track My Life, which hit number two on the Hot 100, becoming his highest charting single as a lead artist.

The late King Von also has a collaboration track with him; the track Don’t Play That, released in 2022, reached number 40 on the Hot 100. By November 2022, 21 Savage and Drake dropped their collaboration album, titled Her Loss, which took the top spot on the Billboard 200, marking his third chart-topping album. This album gave hits like Rich FlexCirco Loco, and Spin Bout U, all hitting the top 10 on the Hot 100. In fact, the album had six more top-10  tracks. Later, in 2022, he released the track Creepin featuring Metro Boominand The Weeknd, which also gained rapid popularity and reached number three on the Hot 100.

His third studio album, American Dream, released earlier this year, 2024, also claimed the number-one spot on the Billboard 200. This makes it his fourth chart-topping album. 21 Savage has been on a roll since the beginning of his career, creating standout tracks that shake the ground of the rap industry. Redrum and Nee-Nah are both a collaboration with Travis Scott, and Metro Boomin hit the top 10 as number five and ten on the chart. The album also produced the leading track, N.H.I.E, which is a collaboration with Doja Cat.
