During his school days, he ran into Playboi Carti andJason Olivas. Then in 2013, he dropped his mixtape Hard Body under the false name Yung Serg.

Gunna’s birth name is Sergio Giavanni Kitchens. His big break came when he signed with YYoung Thug’s YSL Records in 2016, a label under 300 Entertainment. His third mixtape, Drip Season 3, released in 2018, is a major contribution to his ascent to stardom, making a solid entry into the Billboard 200. The collaboration with fellow Georgian rapper Lil Baby on the mixtape Drip Harder made waves, reaching number four on the Billboard Charts. By the way, their lead single, Drip Too Hard, not only peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100 but also achieved diamond certification from the RIAA. It also earned a nomination for Best Rap/Song Performance at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards.

Gunna’s Discography

In 2016, he released Drip Season which had a good amount of recognition, followed up by Drip Season 2 in 2017. Then came Drip or Drown and Drip Season 3, the third installment of his Drip Season Series. This mixtape got him charting on the Billboard 200 for the first time in his music career.

A feature with Lil Baby for Drip Harder in 2018 gave him a number four spot on the Billboard 200. The soundtrack also became his highest-charting song ever. A collaboration with Drake, Never Recover, from the same mixtape, got a spot in the top 20 with a strong position as number 15 on the chart.

Dropping his debut studio album, Drip or Drown 2, in 2019, the album hit number three on the Billboard 200. By 2020, he released his second studio album, Wunna. This album is his first project to hit number one. In the album, the track Dollaz on My Head featuring Young Thug had a spot on the Hot 100. Later, in 2020, he released Lemonade with the label Internet Money featuring Don Toliver and  Nav. Then, in 2021, the album Slime Language 2 with Young Thug topped the charts with hits like Ski and Solid.
